I'm a UX designer with 12+ years of experience creating digital products that people actually enjoy using. My background is unusually broad for this field — I started in graphic design, spent years working with marketing teams and agencies, and taught myself front-end development along the way. That mix means I don't hand off wireframes and hope for the best. I design with a working knowledge of how things get built, and I bring a visual craft to interfaces that pure UX backgrounds often lack.

These days, my focus is end-to-end product design: research, user flows, prototyping, and testing, through to polished UI. I care most about the gap between what a business wants to say and what a user actually needs — and closing it. Whether I'm untangling a complex workflow or refining a single interaction, my goal is the same: make it feel obvious in hindsight.

Philosophy

Upstream Thinking

Not one to wait to be handed a brief — I'm the person in the room asking whether the brief is right in the first place. After years, the confidence and credibility to challenge assumptions before a single wireframe is drawn.

Research-Led Decision Making

Not about designing on instinct alone. It's knowing how to structure discovery, run meaningful research, and — crucially — synthesise what it actually means for the product. Finding the insight others miss because they were too busy designing.

Stakeholder Alignment

Comfortable working across disciplines — sitting alongside product managers, engineers, and stakeholders, and helping each team find common ground. Translating between business goals and design decisions has become something valued as much as the craft itself.

Systems Thinking

Seeing beyond the screen in front of me. Thinking in journeys, services, and ecosystems — which means the work holds together end-to-end, not just at the individual interaction level.

Balancing Human Needs with Business Reality

The best design lives at the intersection of what people genuinely need and what a business can realistically deliver.
